It’s been a month, to say the least! Long days working to move back into our house have left me almost too tired to read—which is saying a lot! But I managed to get some books finished. And it’s been so fun to start reading Christmas stories.

The Story Girl by L.M. Montgomery

This is one of the few L.M. Montgomery books I hadn’t read. It was delightful. Not that I’m surprised! And I really loved that I could picture the house and setting since I’d been there!

Havoc by Ronie Kendig

It’s been a while since I’ve read one of Ronie’s books. I’m not really a miilitary story reader, but she spins such great stories with great characters that they are hard to resist! This one starts a series about retired military dogs. And it was great. Loved the suspense and the romance.

Children of the Shadows by Erica Vetsch

The third Thorndike and Swann mystery did not disappoint! The mystery was very layered and the continuation of the romance was perfect. Erica is such a good storyteller!

My True Love Gave to Me by Karen Witemeyer

What a thoroughly enjoyable way to kick off my Christmas reading! A short story with a Texas take on the 12 days of Christmas. Cute and sweet and fun.

The Meaning in Mistletoe by Rachael Bloome

Another great book in the Poppy Creek series! I love these characters so much. I’ll probably slot in the next one for January!

Cotswolds Holiday by Kasey Stockton

I mean, how could I not read this? Look at the title! Actually, my sister read this one last year and told me it had to be on my list for this year. And she was right. Nothing better than Christmas in the Cotswolds and a British-set romance.

O Little Town by Amanda Wen, Janrye Tromp, Deborah Raney

This three-novella collection was wonderful. All three stories involve a specific school building in a small Michigan town, but each is set in a different era. Each story was unique and well-told. And I especially loved seeing how the building changed in use over the years!

That’s it! I’m glad the majority of my house is put back together now so I’ll have more energy to read!

Thanks for the “neck light” idea. We found one and I use it every night before sleep.
