Colossians 1:11-12

Meditate on this verse this week in whatever way works best for you. (See this post for a few suggestions.) Then come back to this post and leave a comment telling us what you learned from it. I’ll do the same. See you then!

Whew! I never imagined it would take me so long to get back here this week! But more on that in a post next week.

I haven’t had my usual time to consider this verse, and when I did, it was in a different version than the one I quoted on the meme I posted. But in the end, it all came down to this: the reason we can have joy in our endurance and patience is because He has qualified us “to share in the inheritance of the saints of light.” It reminds me of I Thessalonians 5:18, in which Paul tells us to “give thanks in everything.” We can do that because no matter our circumstance, even if it tries our endurance and patience, we can always give thanks for His grace which qualifies us for that inheritance. And that fact brings us joy.

That’s what I got out of this verse. How about you?

Can she trust the God of creation to make something beautiful of her life?”
