“So many books, so little time” is more than just a cute saying around here. It is true truth. So alas, I often don’t get to some books until long after they come out.
Such is the case with Wonderland Creek by Lynn Austin. It came out last fall, the same time as Wings of a Dream, when I walked through my life like a deer in the headlights. So much got missed in those frantic months. So I finally pulled it out last week. Oh my! What a great story! I haven’t read a lot of Lynn Austin, though my sister has told me for years how much she loves Lynn’s books, but I’m glad I didn’t miss this one!
Alice lives life with her nose stuck in a book but suddenly finds herself living an adventure instead of just reading about one. Set in Kentucky in the 1930s, this book revolves around a library that employs packhorse librarians. The cast of characters is great. The story is great. In fact, I found myself laughing out loud several times in the book.
If you missed this one when it came out, go back and find it. It definitely earned a “to keep” place on my bookshelf.

I haven’t read any of Lynn Austin’s books, but maybe I’ll try this one. The synopsis sounds fun, but intriguing!

Definitely try this one, Sylvia. A very good read.
