The Tutor’s Daughter by Julie Klassen

Home » Reading » The Tutor’s Daughter by Julie Klassen

In: Reading, Uncategorized on: January 14, 2013

Oh, how I love Regency-set books! And Julie Klassen’s stories are some of the best. The Tutor’s Daughter is no exception. Set on the dangerous Cornwall coast, in a manor house high on the cliffs, the tutor and his daughter find themselves in a house filled with secrets and strange happenings.

This story is a lovely mix of Jane Austenish characters with that gothic feel of the Bronte sisters thrown in. I also felt a hint of two more modern movies, but don’t want to mention them for fear of spoiling some of the story twists! It was a book that I hated setting down for even a moment–and one that stirred a desire to place yet another part of England on my travel wish list. If you enjoy all things British and historical, I think you’ll find The Tutor’s Daughter as captivating of a read as I did!

I’ve been hearing so much about this book and have been wanting to read it. Sounds like I’ll have to add this to my already-far-too-long to-be-read pile!

I know what you mean–but I always make room for Julie’s new books at the top of that mountain. They are that good. 🙂

This book sounds interesting! When I find time, I’ll try to read it. I have so many books I want to read, but I don’t have enough time. :'(
