If you answered yes to the title of this post, then think of me as Uncle Sam, pointing and saying, “I want YOU!”
Why? Because in spite of all the various means of marketing that are available to us today, research shows that word of mouth is still why most people buy the books they buy. So in order to facilitate word of mouth, my publisher is giving away what we call “influencer copies” of my latest book. “Influencers” are people we identify as:
readers who talk to other readers, via online reviews, blog posts, as a book club member, in a library setting, as a bookstore employee or just to their friends and family.
As an Influencer, Bethany House sends you a free copy of my book. You read it. If you like it (which I hope you will!), you talk about it to your spheres of “influence”–your book club, your local library, your church library, your friends and family or even to online friends and strangers who read your blog or see your reviews in places like Amazon or Goodreads or Novel Crossing or Christianbook.com or Barnes and Noble.
So do you fit the Influencer profile? If so, I have a few more spots let on my list for my September release, A Home for My Heart. Email me (anne (at) annemateer (dot) com) with your name, mailing address, and a general idea of the various places you are willing to share what you think of the story. Depending on how many responses I have, I may or may not be able to take all who are interested!
In case you haven’t seen it before, here is the cover and story synopsis for A Home for My Heart, set in 1910 central Pennsylvania:
Sadie Sillsby works as the assistant to the matron at the Raystown Home for Orphan and Friendless Children and dreams of the day she’ll marry her beau, Blaine. But when the matron surprises everyone by announcing her own engagement, Sadie is suddenly next in line for the job. For a young woman who was once an orphan herself, a shot at such an esteemed position is a wish come true.
But the matron of the Home cannot be married. Is Sadie willing to give up her dreams of a life with Blaine and a family of her own? Is she prepared to forgo daily involvement with the children as she instead manages the financial, legal, and logistical aspects of the orphanage? And when it’s revealed that the Home is spending a lot more money than it’s taking in, can Sadie turn things around before the place is forced to close forever?

i would love to read this book. i admit, i am a sceptic. i have a post written right now…not yet published, about my frustration re christian fiction and the characters and how boring some of them can be:(
i would like to read the book and find that it is the exception. i think putting it in a different historical place helps make the characters a little more interesting often:)

Yes, I do talk about what I read. I mention books on facebook and talk about them it the staff lounge at work.
