Hold on to your hats! It was quite a reading month!
To be fair, I was close to the end of four different books when I posted last month, which boosted the amount of this month’s finished books. And somehow when I’m really busy, I find more time to read.🤷♀️
So let’s get started, since we have fourteen—yes, you read that right!—books to cover today and I hardly know where to start because so many were absolutely fabulous!
Every Hour Until Then by Gabrielle Meyer
Oh. My. I had read people saying this was the best yet in the Timeless series, and I thought, “No way.” But it’s true! A story full of history and suspense in two different years and a woman racing back and forth between them to figure out the mystery before it’s too late. When I finished this one, I immediately pre-ordered the next, which comes out this fall! Way to go, Gabe!
To Spark a Match by Jen Turano
Last month I read several heavier books, so I wanted something lighter in tone and plot. Of course I turn to Jen. Her books are hilarious! And this one was no exception. Book Two in the Matchmakers series had me laughing out loud. And made me excited to get to #3!
Austen by Susan May Warren
Book four of the Minnesota Kingstons series did not disappoint! A wild ride from beginnign to end, per usual. It releases on Amazon July 4, but you can get it now from Susie’s website! Can’t wait to see how this series ends with the release of Stein in September!
Havah by Tosca Lee
Y’all. This book. I can’t stop thinking about it. It’s the story of Adam and Eve from Eve’s perspective. I love Tosca’s adherence to scripture as well as her imagination to fill in the gaps. So many things I hadn’t thought of both before and after sin entered the world. Her insight is amazing. Highly recommended.
When Stone Wings Fly by Karen Barnett
I bought two of Karen Barnett’s books on sale because I was intrigued by the settings in National Parks by a former park ranger! This dual timeline story grabbed me and held on. I might have cried at the end. 😉 I will definitely be reading more of her books. And now I want to go to the Smoky Mountains!
The Way Back by Heidi Chiavaroli
I’ve so enjoyed Heidi’s Orchard House Bed and Breakfast series that I branched out to her Lights of Acadia series. So, so good. Of course I also love that both series are set in Maine, which is one of my favorite places. There was one small spoiler for the Orchard House B&B series, so now I’m working on finishing those books before I dive back into this series.
Where Love Grows by Heidi Chiavaroli
Book three in the Orchard House Bed and Breakfast series. Really, really good. I’ll be on to book four soon!
The Roads We Follow by Nicole Deese
My first Nicole Deese book was the first book in the Fog Harbor series. This is book two. I listened to this one and it was so good! So good that I kept making time to listen, which doesn’t always come easily! Looking forward to book three!
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
This is one of my favorite books to re-read—and listening to it was a particular joy! I always forget how good this one is and how much faith is embedded in its story. Jane is a heroine both good and strong and committed to faith in God, and I love her for that!
The Burning of Rosemont Abbey by Naomi Stephens
A mystery set in 1950s England? Yes, please! Loved listening to it with the British narrator! If you enjoy an Agatha Christie style mystery, this one is for you!
Burning Rivals by Voni Harris
Chasing Fire: Alaska #2. I found this one a bit more convuluted than the usual offerings in these types of series from Sunrise Publishing, but it was still good, especially since it keeps connecting the other stories in the series.
Burning Escape by Michelle Sass Aleckson
Very well-told story, this Chasing Fire: Alaska #3! I especially enjoyed it because we went back to a character I enjoyed in Chasing Fire: Montana!
An Uncommon Earl by Sian Ann Bessey
Book two in the Georgian Gentlemen series. I love this series because it’s harder to find 18th century-set books! This one was really good. Characters that just capture your heart.
Grandma Ruth Doesn’t Go to Funerals by Sharon J. Mondragon
A contemporary mystery set in a small Gerogia town. Romance, intrigue, and lots of humor. Very cute.
There you go! Fourteen more books for you to add to your toppling TBR pile, if yours is anything like mine!
Have you read any of these? What did you think?
I read Every Hour Until Then, and When Stone Wings fly, enjoyed them both very much! I have several of the others on my wish list.
Yes! Two great stories!
I’m behind on the Timeless series, so no spoilers, please! Just finished Kimberley Duffy’s The Weight of Air and LOVED it; now reading Jody Hedlund’s A Wager with the Matchmaker to fulfill a “released in May 2025” reading challenge.
I won’t give spoilers–just that every book is better than the last! Kim Duffy’s books are great. Be sure to read her new rom-com, too! I haven’t read Jody in awhile but I always love her books when I do get to them!
