We first met the Archer brothers–all four named after Texas heroes at the Alamo–in Short Straw Bride by Karen Witemeyer. They were funny and charming and strong and sweet. The moment I heard that brother Crockett was getting his own story, I was ecstatic, both because he is a great character and because Karen Witemeyer is a great writer. Seriously, I don’t know how in the world each of her books can be better than the last, but they are.
Stealing the Preacher is an amazing blend of whimsical fun and spiritual depth. How in the world do you pull that off? And in a romance novel! But I’m telling you, this novel held me captive on every level. A flawless story and characters that will live long in my heart. Even if you aren’t generally a fan of the romance genre, I urge you to try this one. It’s got so much more to offer than just boy meets girl.
Way to go, Karen! I can’t wait until next year’s release! 🙂

Thanks, Anne! That means so much. Oh, and just so you know – I have a little something in mind for Neill. He won’t have a full-length novel, but he’s getting his own novella coming this January. His story will be part of a collection entitled A Match Made in Texas. The other authors are Mary Connealy, Regina Jennings, and Carol Cox. It was such a fun project, and I’m excited to give the last Archer brother his own happy ending!
