Secrets from Grandma’s Attic Update

Home » Writing » Secrets from Grandma’s Attic Update

In: Writing on: February 9, 2022

If you receive my newsletter (if you don’t, sign up on the sidebar!), you probably already know that I’ve signed a contract to write another book in Guideposts’ Secrets from Grandma’s Attic series. It was a joyful surprise at the end of last month! So in case you were wondering, here are a few more details about this as well as an update on the book I wrote last year.

First, the new one. It will be #14 in the series, which is challenging to plot! At least it’s the same location and characters. That does help some. And I feel more confident now as I better understanding the process of a series where the books are written by different authors. I am also more familiar with the type of the story desired by the publisher.

I’m currently in the fun stage of researching and daydreaming and seeing what I can mesh together of a historical story and a contemporary one. This is definitely stretching my imaginative powers, but that’s a good thing! Like any muscle, my i maginationneeds to be strengthened and refined by use.

Book #14 will release in August of 2023, and I will be working hard to get it mostly finished before our anniversary trip to Scotland in mid-June. That gives me a bit of wiggle room for revisions ahead of the August 1 deadline. All in all, God’s perfect timing.

As for the book I wrote last year, book #6 in the series, it now has an official title! Hidden Riches will release in November. I am currently in the revision stage with notes from my editors to help make the story everything it needs to be. It’s a part of the process that I love—making the work better.

Watch the blog and the newsletter for all things related to the release of this series and my books in the series. And while each book stands alone just fine, too, I’m looking forward to reading all the other books myself!

Thank you for this information…I have just finished reading “Hidden Riches”. Excellent, and a wonderful read. Each book in this series leaves me wanting more, more, and still more so that I can continue with another scenario in the lives of Tracy, Amy, and Robin. Please keep writing…and enjoy, enjoy Scotland.

I’m so glad you enjoyed Hidden Riches!! I’m loving the series as well. It’s so fun to keep up with Tracy, Amy and Robin through the other authors’ books. Look for my next Secrets from Grandma’s Attic in July of this year then March of 2024!

And yes, we had an amazing time in Scotland!
