It’s time to meet another reader! I hope you are as excited as I am! Today you get to meet Diana M.
Welcome, Diana! Please start by introducing us to yourself and your family.
I am single, oldest of three sisters, and Aunt Naner to three awesome kiddos.
Aunt Naner! What a great name! When did you first come to identify yourself as a “reader”? What do you most enjoy reading? Do you consider yourself a casual reader, a sporadic reader, a serious reader or an all-out bibliophile?
I began reading at an early age. My mom read the Little House books to me and my sisters when we were little. My book of choice is a Christian Historical Romance. I like a few of the classics – Jane Austen, Anne Bronte. My favorite authors these days are Anne Mateer, Regina Jennings, and Karen Witemeyer. I consider my self a serious reader. Reading is like therapy to me after a bad day or week.
I read the Little House books quite early, too. (In fact, I still reread them sometimes!) Bless you for including me with such fun authors as Regina and Karen! So tell us, what is the last book you finished and what are you currently reading?
The last book I read was Fired Up by Mary Connealy. I haven’t started another one yet – waiting for the weekend.
So I’m thinking you gave us a hint to the answer of the next question with your last answer! What is your favorite time and place to read?
I really like to read on Saturdays when I have time to start and finish a book. I like to sprawl out on my bed or get comfy on the couch. My dog likes to curl up next to me. She’s good company for reading a book.
I love starting and finishing a book in a weekend, too! It’s so good that your dog is so companionable when you read. What is the most unusual circumstance/place in which you’ve been found reading?
The most unusual place have been found reading is the bathroom. I have been known to take a book in and read for a while.
Do you read physical books, ebooks, or both?
I read both ebooks and physical books. I like the convenience of ebooks but nothing beats the feeling of the pages of a book between my fingers.
That seems to be the consensus among most readers I know. Do you buy your books, borrow them from friends or check them out of the library? (Or all of the above!)
I buy most of my books. I usually only go to the library when I want to reread one that I don’t own.
I like owning my books, too. Do you have any favorite foods or drinks that generally accompany your reading?
I like to have a glass of sweet tea or Dr. Pepper close by when I am reading. No food unless it’s finger food and doesn’t get in the way of my page turning.
Ah, sweet tea. Finally, it’s true confessions time: have you ever forgotten something important (to fix dinner or that dinner was in the oven or an appointment, etc) because you were lost in the pages of a book?
I have been known to get so into a book that I will forget to feed my dogs, especially if I started a book on my break at work and come home and pick it up again. They are real patient with me though, and very forgiving.
Oh, those poor doggies! So glad they love you anyway. 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing a little bit of yourself with us today, Diana.
Happy Reading, Y’all!
Regina Jennings
Diana,
Thanks so much for including me with Austen, Bronte, Mateer and Witemeyer! You made my day!
Great interview, Anne. As someone who is interviewingly challenged I admire your skill. 🙂
Hugs,

Wasn’t that fun? I couldn’t even comment on being named alongside Austen and Bronte. Two of my favs that I aspire to!

Wonderful to meet another one of your readers, Anne!
Diana, I agree with you, I like to begin a book when I have the time to make it all the way through in one sitting. It’s lovely *meeting* you!
Anne
Diana was so fun to meet! So glad you enjoyed her, too, Suzanne! 🙂
