Made to Last by Melissa Tagg

In: Reading, Uncategorized on: September 2, 2013

I didn’t read contemporary romance for a long time. Especially Christian contemporary romance. But there are some great new voices out there and I’ve shared some of those with you. Today I’d like to introduce you to another: Melissa Tagg. (You’ll want to visit her blog, too. She is hilarious as well as insightful.)

Made to Last

Made to Last is Melissa Tagg’s debut novel, and it is a doozy! Here are some things I particularly loved about it:

  1. The snappy dialogue and zany situations. Very reminiscent of 1940s screwball comedies, which I Melissa loves. (As do I!)
  2. The great characters! Unique. Lovable. Flawed. I especially came to love Blaze/Blake, who will apparently have his own future in another book. Yay!
  3. Matthew Knox IS the guy on the cover. I know that seems like a strange thing for me to love, but I did love it! I generally don’t pay much attention to characters on covers because they never completely match up with my imagination. But Matthew? That cover model is HIM!
  4. The Christmas in Connecticut inspired plot-line, because that is one of my favorite movies. (see #1)

So there you go. Never a dull moment in this one. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Thank you soooo much for the kind words! And I have to agree about Matthew…I was so shocked when I first saw the cover at how absolutely perfect the cover model was. Uncanny! Thanks again!!

I started A Home for My Heart yesterday…I was SO frustrated that I had to get up and come into work this morning because I just wanted to keep reading it today. The characters started tugging on my heart right from the first chapter!

I’m so proud of you Melissa! This was such a fun book. And thank you for your kind words about A Home for My Heart. It’s always a bit nerve-wracking to have a book release and wonder how it will be received. But of course, you are learning that now! 🙂

Agreed! It’s such a fun but multi-layered story.
