Christmas Reads on my Radar

Home » Reading » Christmas Reads on my Radar

In: Reading on: October 22, 2026

I do love a story set at Christmas, be it a movie or a book. And I especially love watching or reading those stories near Christmas time. For me, this used to mean after Thanksgiving. But over the past few years, my date has moved up to November 1, which is right around the corner!

So I thought I’d share with you some Christmas novels that I’ve already purchased, that I have on pre-order, and that are high on my wishlist.

I have to start buying Christmas books well ahead of November in order to afford them all! Thankfully, I often pick up some on sale in the summer.

Right now, these are the ones already purchased and waiting:

I try not to miss one of Karen’s books, and this one looks so very fun. I love an academic hero.

Apparently I’m late to this series. And since I have to begin at the beginning, I decided to start this Christmas.

I read one of their collaborations earlier this year, so I picked up this one for my holiday reading.

It made me so happy to see this when I had just finished the last of Heidi’s contemporary novels. I love her stories so much!

This Regency novella collection has been on my list since it came out in 2020 and somehow I just hadn’t bought it. Until last week, when the audiobook went on sale at Chirp for $2.99! (Click the link to see if the deal is still there!) Yippee!

Joanna’s new novel, The Life She Forgot, kept me captivated, so why wouldn’t I want to return to the Cornwall coast for Christmas?

I mean, how could any Anglophile resist this title? And having read Gaynor and Webb before, I feel sure it will be a good story.

Christmas? Bookshop? Set in Edinburgh? Again, how could I resist!

And it’s waaayyy to easy to hit that pre-order button, so here are the ones that will arrive soon!

The novella falls in the Dollar Princess series, which I have loved so much! Each book is based on a movie musical and set in the late 1800s, when marrying American heiresses was all the rage in England in order to shore up depleted artisocratic coffers! This one is based on the movie White Christmas.

Finally, here are a few that will find their way into my cart very soon after November 1:

This is the fourth book in the Falling for Flannel in Maple Lake series. I will get to it by Christmas—after I’ve finished books two and three!

Roseanna always writes a good book, so I know I’ll get this one.

The “Belle” is Scrooge’s former love from A Christmas Carol. How fun it that? I can’t wait to read Michelle’s imagining of Belle’s life after Ebenezer.

World War II Christmas fiction about a USO Christmas show. Sounds delightful!

I’m sure there will be many more that cross my path, but for now, these might be all my November and December can handle. For of course there will be non-Christmas stories thrown in there as well.

Do you enjoy Christmas-set stories? When do you start reading them? Which ones of these have you read or are you looking
