So I was going to put this post on Monday, but I didn’t want y’all to miss this book for $4.99 on kindle! I’m not sure when that ends, so here you go.
The first time I read the premise of My Foolish Heart by Susan May Warren, I knew I wanted to read it. It’s a “You’ve Got Mail,” “Shop Around the Corner” kind of story and I love those. Add in an author I know can create great characters and great story, and it was a no-brainer. I knew I’d get to it. And as of this week (yes, over a year after its publication!), I finally did.
I’ll admit, my expectations were high. After all, this book finaled in three major awards this year–the RITA Award, the Christy Award and the Carol Award–as well as getting enthusiastic nods all over cyberspace when it was first released. But from the opening scene, I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed. Issy and Caleb were so precious and even though I knew they would eventually discover one another, the journey was delightful. But I also loved that it was more than a romance. It was packed with spiritual truth, too. And written to Susan May Warren’s high standards of plot and character. I just wish it hadn’t taken me so long to get to it!
