Hankering for Routine–Again!

Home » Family » Hankering for Routine–Again!

In: Family on: July 21, 2016

When I fantasized about life with kids in their 20s,  I imagined my days would move along through the summer months at pretty much the same pace as the school year. After all, my family would no longer be ruled by the school calendar. At least until there were grandchildren of school age.

But that hasn’t proven to be the case. My summer has been chaos because all of my kids are still on the school calendar! With one college student, one teacher, and one grad student, our summer has been full of kids in and out, of moves here and there. It’s been great spending time with each of them separately, but as in the past when they were all at home and in school, I’m hankering for routine again. And unlike their younger days, I think they are, too!
