July and August in Texas are generally characterized by hot and dry. In the past few years, that’s been very hot and very dry. But this past week, we’ve been deluged with rain. Hard, all day or all night rain. In August. Quite amazing. And it reminds me again that even we we think things in our lives will continue in the same pattern they always have, sometimes the Lord brings unexpected rain that soaks the parched ground, cools the temperatures and freshens the world.
